Client: J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center

Role: Videographer and Video Editor.

Project: The J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center’s annual Gala Event, a client is chosen to have their story told; to inspire, encourage, and raise awareness of the center and its clients. This year (2014) we tell Brad’s transformational story. The Shea Center is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic horse-related programs.

Hi, I’m Brad and this is Splendid, the horse I ride~ and the way I feel about coming to the Shea Center each and every week! I’m 26 years old and have been riding at Shea since I was 10. I began riding after Make A Wish Foundation granted my wish of “my own horse to ride.” Born with cancer, my first 5 years were filled with hospital visits, chemotherapy and treatments. My parents say that therapeutic riding helped me develop strength and balance so that I could walk without stumbling and falling. But all I know is that I love farm animals and horses and country music, so the Shea Center is “Brad heaven” for me. Saturday mornings at the stable are full of fun and laughter with my instructors and the friends in my group lesson. I especially enjoy riding Splendid and trotting fast. Thank you to everyone who makes the Shea Center so joyful and “splendid” for me.”
